Knaresborough RUFC 19 Mosborough RUFC 38
Knaresborough played top of the table Mosborough who are also undefeated this season at Hay-A-Park on Saturday. Mosborough got off to a flying start scoring a converted try after only 5 minutes. They continued to make all the running for most of the first half and shortly before half time where leading 26 points to 0. With half time approaching Knaresborough began what was a remarkable fight back and managed to score a try through Will Stevenson just before the break.
Knaresborough continued in tremendous form in the second half and a visibly shaken Mosborough found there lead cut right back to only a one score margin with
Knaresborough tries coming from Ben Stevenson and Glen Roberts and both were converted by Will Stevenson. This continued until late in the half when Mosborough broke out from their own line and at the resulting lineout close to the Knaresborough try line they pressed hard and were awarded a penalty try. From the restart Knaresborough threw caution to the wind but where caught on the counter attack and Mosborough’s wing sprinted in under the posts to complete an entertaining afternoon’s rugby.

Knaresborough Rugby Club has decided to enter a Rugby league side in the summer conference merit league. The club is now looking for players of all abilities who would like to form a squad that can take part in matches throughout the summer weekends. Training will start on the clubs new Hay – A – Park pitch from 7pm this Thursday and continue throughout the summer season. Club coach Andy King said “it is our intension to bring a new sport into the town and help raise people’s awareness regarding Knaresborough Rugby Clubs intension to play both codes of the sport locally throughout the full year”. Knaresborough Rugby Club get New Shirt Sponsor.
The official presentation of their new shirts from local company Knaresborough Engineering took place recently. The presentation was made on behalf of Knaresborough Engineering by the company's owner Mr Andrew Waller and accepted on the clubs behalf by club president Mr Barrie Stevenson. Mr Waller who's company make bespoke quality mild and stainless steel fabrication for many different clients across the manufacturing sector. Said "We are a local company looking to support a community based sports club and K.R.U.F.C. fits the profile exactly. With the prospect of a new ground and clubhouse being developed next year this is the perfect time to give them a helping hand". Responding for the Rugby Club first team captain Jamie Bird thanked Andy for supporting the club at such a critical time in its development and said " it has taken the club 26 years to get to where we are now and with the help of companies like Knaresborough Engineering we will get our new club house built .
